Important Installation Notice – Safe Fixing to Wall Types

 Thank you for considering our Heavy-Duty Garage Wall Shelf System.

For safety and structural integrity, it is essential that your shelf system is installed correctly according to your wall type. Using unsuitable fixings can result in failure of the shelf system and potential injury or property damage.

Supplied hardware in Kit

• 2 @ 900mm x 600mm shelves
• 4 @ Wall Brace with 3 holes
• 8mm Heavy-Duty Screws
• 12mm Nylon Expansion Plugs
• Bolts to attach shelves
• Fastening clips & screws to attach shelves to braces
• 6 @ Stainless Steel utility hooks

Installation Guidelines by Wall Type: (Refer Installation Video)

✅ 1. Timber Stud Walls:

• Drill supplied 8mm timber screws directly into wall studs.
• Affix bottom 2 screws first, add top screw once shelves placed in braces.
• Load-bearing capacity is excellent when fixed securely into structural studs.

✅ 2. Solid Brick or Concrete Walls:

• Use the supplied 12mm nylon expansion plugs and 8mm screws.
• Drill 12mm diameter holes to correct depth (approx. 65–75mm).
• Insert plugs fully and tighten screws to expand securely inside solid material.
• Affix bottom 2 screws first, add top screw once shelves placed in braces.

⚠️ 3. Hollow Brick or Hollow Concrete Block Walls:

If your project involves installing your shelves to Hollow Brick Walls, check YES on the Upgrade Anchors for Hollow Brick Walls and we will include upgraded Anchors with superior hold and ability to hold larger loads.

• Drill 10mm diameter holes to correct depth (approx. 66–75mm).
• Insert plugs fully and tighten screws to expand securely inside cavity.
• Affix bottom 2 screws first, add top screw once shelves placed in braces.

These anchors provide proper load distribution across the cavity and minimize pull-out risks.

⚠️ 4. Metal Stud Walls (Steel Framing):

 Supplied fixings are not suitable for metal stud walls. We have successfully used the following products for Light/Medium load bearing installations available at an economical price and providing easy installation. Full instructions on pack.

For metal stud installations, we recommend:

• Ramset Hollow Wall Anchors (Metal) suitable for wall thickness 6–16mm
• Use the Ramset Hollow Wall Anchor Setting Tool to correctly flare the anchor behind the metal stud
• These can be purchased from Hardware Stores (Bunnings or Mitre 10) Online or Specialist Screw suppliers

⚠️ Note:
Anchoring to metal studs provides limited load-bearing capacity, likely similar to hollow wall installations. Shelves installed on metal studs should be treated as light/medium-duty installations only. Larger load bearing specialist Anchors are available from Specialist Screw Suppliers, generally more expensive, contact us for more information.

• When in doubt, consult a qualified tradesperson.
• Spread load evenly across shelf surface.
